About Villa Mandalay Dua
A tranquil paradise with endless paddy views, Villa Mandalay Dua offers an opportunity to revel in the Balinese countryside. This entrancing, four-bedroom villa in Seseh-Tanah Lot on Bali’s south-west coast is tucked into a two-villa estate, offering exclusivity and a host of facilities.
Paying homage to local materials, the villa showcases Indonesian sensibilities both in its design and its decor. The stone flooring is cool on sunny days and wooden furniture tastefully placed around the house completes the overall effect.
Multiple pavilions ensure privacy. The master bedroom stands tall on the first floor above the living room, while two guest rooms share a separate pavilion in front of the long swimming pool. The last bedroom is perhaps the most coveted, sitting as it does near the entrance of the villa, allowing easy exit without disturbing the others.
The villa is perfect for a group of eight, with room for more on extra beds. Larger groups can rent it together with its neighbour Villa Mandalay. The 11-bedroom estate is ideal for reunions, weddings and retreats.
Managed by a friendly team of staff, no wish of yours is left unfulfilled at Villa Mandalay Dua. Massage by the poolside in the thatched balé? Drinks on the patio? A delicious meal customised to your taste buds? Nothing is too much trouble for the willing staff here. A stay at this blissful villa is bound to be relaxing and peaceful.
Villa Layout
Enter the compound and be greeted by a water fountain and a pathway that leads you in. On the left, you have Guest Bedroom 3 and on the right, the door to the kitchen. Walking further down, the main, open-plan living area lies on the right with sofa seating in one corner, a large dining table and an open kitchen with bar stools on the right extreme. Stairs lead up to the master bedroom which looks down towards the pool. Walking out of the living room, you will find a covered wooden veranda with seating and the pool and garden beyond. On the right side, the remaining two bedrooms share a separate pavilion with a long patio in front of them. And a thatched balé sits at the far end of the pool.
Living Areas
INDOOR LIVING
The open-plan living room dominates the main pavilion with artistic, unfinished stone flooring and sliding glass doors that lead onto the poolside veranda. Bench-style cushioned sofas are arranged around a rug and coffee table, with a large flat screen, mounted television in front. A large, wooden dining table sits adjacent to the living room, creating a dining area for 10 guests. The modern, fully equipped kitchen takes up the right extreme corner of the room, with a large breakfast island and bar stools around it. The room has been crafted using natural materials like stone, wood and straw, and the abundance of natural light owing to the sliding doors makes it a cheery space. Green plants have been effectively used to liven up the room, making it seemingly merge into the outdoors.
OUTDOOR LIVING
Glass doors slide open to convert the air-conditioned living room into an open-sided pavilion leading onto a covered veranda dotted with cushioned chairs and large potted plants. This is the perfect place for evening tea or to catch up on some gossip. Manicured lawns spread out in front, with a long, rectangular swimming pool on one side and relaxing sun loungers lined up along it. The guest bedroom pavilion also has a long veranda shared by both the rooms, ideal for a little me-time. The pool ends at a thatched balé, a blissful spot for open-air massages.
Bedrooms
All four bedrooms are air conditioned with the additional comfort of ceiling fans. King-size beds are covered with crisp white linen and flat-screen TVs equipped with DVD players. Each room has an ensuite bathroom tiled in grey andesite stone.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom sits above the living and dining room, accessible via a staircase. Wooden flooring gives the room a warm aura and the king-size bed is positioned to face the green rice fields beyond the compound. The room has a personal patio in front, with enviable views of Uluwatu Cliff and if you open the bedhead window, we can even catch a glimpse of Batur Mountain. The ensuite bathroom has stone flooring and a separate shower cubicle.
Guest Bedrooms 1 & 2
A separate pavilion by the pool contains two of the guest bedrooms, built as identical replicas. The two rooms share a common veranda in front and look out towards the lawn and the pool. King-size beds and wooden artefacts make the rooms homely and ensuite bathrooms have all amenities you may need. There is great attention to detail here, with vivid art on the walls and locally-sourced rugs covering the floor.
Guest Bedroom 3
The fourth bedroom enjoys maximum privacy, with easy exit from the villa without disturbing the others, being located close to the entrance. The large room looks out towards its own green backyard and has a partition within the room which allows the bed to be positioned for optimal views. The room is equipped with an ensuite bathroom and has plenty of storage space.
